Monthly Guild Meeting Location Information

The Great Lakes Beadworkers Guild meets at the First Presbyterian Church, 1669 West Maple, in Birmingham. First Presbyterian of Birmingham is a very large church on the south side of Maple between Southfield Road and Evergreen Road. It is air-conditioned with a much larger meeting room, a built-in projection screen, sound system and lots of parking!
Please park behind the church and enter through the courtyard entrance. Meetings are held in the Calvin hall across from and just to the right of the entry doors.
Monthly general meetings for members of the Great Lakes Beadworkers Guild begin with socializing at 6:30 p.m. and programs from 7-8:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month (except December) at:

If the Mapquest page doesn't show a map, hit the refresh key on your keyboard and it should show up. If that doesn't work, copy and paste the church address in the appropriate space.
The Guild Board normally meets the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at the same location as the general meeting. Any Guild member may attend Board meetings.
General meetings will be canceled due to inclement weather whenever evening classes at Oakland Community College's Royal Oak campus are canceled, as announced by the local radio or television stations.

Bead Bonanza - at our Bead Bonanza show, we have a great need for our members to volunteer! For just two hours of your time, you get:
1) Meeting other beaders who are fun to work with!
2) The opportunity to display and sell your beadwork at the "Bead Bonanza" shows in the spring and fall.
3) For donating just two hours of your time, you receive free admission to the "Bead Bonanza" shows and a gift. Different duties include:
  • Gate Keepers: Cheerfully greet anxious bead buyers - collect admission fee - stamp hands.
  • Runners: Cheerfully and happily walk among tables and tables of beads and smilingly ask vendors if they need any help, such as getting food for them or watching their tables while take a quick break.
  • Membership Table: Explain (with glee and enthusiasm) how wonderful it is to join the Bead Guild! Collect those fees and applications.
  • Member Gallery and Member Sales: Proudly show off & sell the fine beadwork of fellow beaders.
  • Hospitality Room: Rest your weary feet in the Hospitality room while you greet fellow beaders as they report for their work shifts. Get to see all the “goodies” other volunteers purchase when they come in for a break.
